About the Temple
One of the prominent Pancharamas dedicated to Lord Shiva, Draksharamam houses a towering, majestic Shiva Linga that spans two stories high, allowing devotees to worship from the upper floor. Constructed during the Eastern Chalukya era around the 9th century, the temple walls are covered in ancient inscriptions written in Telugu and Sanskrit scripts. Built with heavy stone blocks and fortified enclosure walls, it reflects a blend of early medieval South Indian temple architecture and rich religious tradition.
