About the Temple
The Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Vadapalli (often referred to as Vadapalli Venkanna Swamy Temple) is a prominent pilgrimage center located in the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district (formerly East Godavari) of Andhra Pradesh, India. Situated on the banks of the Godavari River, it attracts lakhs of devotees, particularly from across Andhra Pradesh and neighboring states. Key Significance & BeliefsThe Seven Saturdays Vratam (Yedu Sanivaramulu): The temple is exceptionally famous for a ritual where devotees perform 11 continuous circumambulations (Pradakshinas) around the sanctum on 7 consecutive Saturdays. It is heavily believed that completing this ritual fulfills heartfelt prayers, brings prosperity, and resolves hardships. Because of this, Saturdays witness massive gatherings and a festive fair (Mela) atmosphere. Unique Deity: The presiding deity, Lord Venkateswara Swamy (also known as Kalyana Venkateswara Swami), has an idol uniquely carved out of sandalwood (Gandapu Vigraham). History The modern iteration of the temple was notably patronized and structured around 1759 by a local chieftain or benefactor named Pinapotu Gajendrudu, who endowed it with lands and ornaments. The temple roof is famously inscribed or surrounded by Govindanamaalu to aid devotees chanting prayers while doing pradakshinas
