About the Temple
Perched on the hill of Mangalagiri, this temple is famous for its unique ritual where the deity accepts only half of the offered jaggery water (Panakam) as an offering, with the other half mysteriously overflowing or disappearing. Constructed with a magnificent 11-tier gopuram built by Raja Vasireddy Venkatadri Nayudu in the early 19th century, the temple boasts stellar Vijayanagara and post-medieval architectural characteristics.
